Career Opportunity: Program Coordinator
The Hartford Community Restorative Justice Center (HCRJC) works to build safer, healthier communities by supporting individuals and families impacted by the justice system. Our programs create space for accountability, healing, and growth through community-led practices. From Circles of Peace and Reparative Panels to transitional housing and life-skills support, we bring neighbors together to repair harm and create new possibilities.
We are seeking a full-time Program Coordinator who will play a central role in keeping our restorative justice work running smoothly day to day. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to working directly with community members. The Coordinator will oversee program logistics, support volunteers, assist clients in transitional housing, and help carry forward our mission through events, workshops, and outreach activities.
Responsibilities
Organize and oversee scheduling for Circles of Peace and Reparative Panels
Recruit, train, and support volunteers engaged in restorative justice programs
Serve as a bridge between participants, volunteers, and staff to ensure accountability and follow-through
Track participation, agreements, and outcomes for accurate program reporting
Provide support to transitional housing clients with referrals, life-skills guidance, and community connections
Help plan and implement events, workshops, and outreach initiatives
Maintain clear and accurate program records and communications
Work collaboratively with staff to strengthen programming and expand community impact
Qualifications
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team
Commitment to restorative justice and community-based approaches
Prior experience in program coordination, case management, or volunteer leadership preferred
Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends as needed
Comfortable engaging directly with diverse community members and handling sensitive situations with care and discretion
Compensation
Full-time position at $24/hour
